  We visited during the week so it was not very busy. Several storefronts seemed vacant. Mostly high end stores GREAT place to people watch. Restrooms were hard to find and it just didn't feel safe although there were several security guards there were still lots of people wandering around yelling out inappropriate comments and pan handling. We went into a high-end anchor store whet several digs were also. We had the lovely experience if being stick on an elevator with excrement on the floor which never got cleaned up even when we tried to use the elevator later in the day. Generaly Santa Monica is a fun place to visit but seems a bit depressing in an odd way.
