  Even though the Shell station across the street is usually a few cents (literally,just 3-4 cents) more expensive, I find myself consistently going to Shell because the Exxon station just has a different vibe. It's weird, I know, particularly with oil at $120 per barrel. But the people at the Shell station are friendlier and make more of an effort to be helpful. I've never found anyone at this particular Exxon to be friendly or helpful. It also doesn't help that the interior of the convenience store is dark--or at least it was when I went in to get some candy (which Exxon didn't carry). I'm a small girl, and dim convenience stores later in the evening are really not places I feel safe in. Bottom line: suck up the extra 3 cents and head to Shell.
